What would the world look like if Prout – as theory and movement – were in power? This was the core question posed by Sohail Inayatullah, UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies, in his playful workshop with a group of socio-spiritual activists.

Around 40 social activists participated in a 2 day workshop organized jointly by the Yusuf Meherally Centre and Proutist Forum, which was held in Puri, Odisha in January, 2019.
Presentations were inspired by the failings of the present economic model; Oxfam’s most recent report on inequality; and the Prout model of economic democracy and decentralization.

In collaboration with local farm, Centro Madre, the Prout Research Institute Venezuela has established initiatives that support local people to become more self-sufficient in producing their own food in the midst of the country’s economic crisis.
