A two-day workshop, organized jointly by the Yusuf Meherally Center and Proutist Forum, was held in Puri, Odisha on January 21 and 22, 2019.  Approximately 40 participants were engaged in presentations analyzing the failings of the present economic model and its broader political system as well as Oxfam’s most recent report on inequality and the Prout model of economic democracy and decentralization as offering viable and effective solutions.  Speakers included Kalyan Anand, National Convenor Proutist Forum, Kanhu Behura, Prout Activist and Ms Me Alee, a former member of Parliament from Denmark.  Ms Alee elaborated on Denmark’s development over the past 80 years.

The workshop’s participants, mostly social activists who support Prout’s vision for economic democracy, came from 10 different districts of Odisha. A follow-on workshop will be held at Koraput, Odisha. On the 23rd and 24th of February this year.
